As a pre-emptive measure, we are collecting signatures on the below petition before Canadian law-makers make any headway. Should it begin to appear as if Canada is going down the same legislative path as the USA, we will send the following statement, along with the number of signatures to all members of the Ontario Provincial Parliament, or any other legislative body which follows suit:
To All Members of the Ontario Provincial Parliament,
We would like to register our strong disagreement with and disapproval of the recently drafted Bill 152 regarding the prohibition of advertising for Internet gambling in the Province of Ontario.
We strongly believe that the government should not attempt to enact legislation which leads towards the prohibition of online gambling by adults. We favour legalisation, regulation, and taxation of online gambling by all levels of government in Canada.
