America Looks to Regulate Online Gambling

The CEO and president of the American Gaming Association, Frank Fahrenkopf sounded a positive note on the wider industry this week in an interview with Reuters news agency on the political changes arising from the recent US mid-term elections.

Online Gambling Curbs Will Not Work

The new law to curb gambling over the Internet has one good thing going for it: It won’t work. The measure requires banks and credit-card companies to block online gambling payments. It was sold as a moral response to the surge in Internet gambling. Actually, it is an economic response to the surge in competition against casinos, state lotteries, etc.

California Man Creates Online Poker Petition

It only took a few hours after Congress passed the Safe Port Act, which included anti-online gambling legislation, for Jim Perkins to set up an online petition. Now, 10 days later, he’s hoping more people stop by and sign it. So far, 5,800 people stopped by and signed the petition he created at petitiononline.com.
